LibX 2.0 for MIT
LibX is a browser add-on you can download for Firefox and Google Chrome. LibX will give you easier access to MIT resources from anywhere
Mendeley
a free program that allows you to manage your citations along with the pdfs. Share your collection with fellow researchers or your lab group. Social software features allow you to connect with other Mendeley users who research similar topics. Available for Mac, PC, and Linux users.
Personal Content Management Tools
Personal content management tools help you organize all sorts of information (notes, articles, documents, images, files, etc.) and work more efficiently. Others let you annotate, cite, and/or share your content.
Zotero
a research tool that helps collect and organize sources; a free, open-source program that can be downloaded as a Firefox browser extension, and it works with Windows, Mac, or Linux systems; also a desktop application thatworks with the Chrome browser.

If we don't own it, we can get it for you. Your options for obtaining materials are expanding, and the delivery times are shrinking. The bad news - it is not always clear which option is the best for your needs.

Interlibrary Borrowing (ILB)
Request articles and books that are not in MIT's collections. No charges and most articles arrive in 1-2 workdays.
MIT WorldCat
Use this service to order books from Ivy League Libraries (even ones we own that are on loan!). Faster than ILB.
Harvard Libraries
Register to borrow books from the Harvard libraries, including Countway Medical Library.
