Islamic Architecture 

A collection of 600 images representing some of the over 2,000 mosques in the United States. Of those, only a small number are purpose-built as mosques. Among the purpose-built mosques, three approaches to the design are discernible: the imported design, using traditional prototypes from the Islamic world; design adapted to the American environment based on a reinterpretation of traditional examples; and entirely innovative forms.
