What are OER?

Open Educational Resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, research, and other purposes. (Creative Commons Wiki)

Because they are openly licensed, you might use them to:

  • help create content for a MOOC
  • teach workshops or provide reference assistance to people not affiliated with MIT (who can't use MIT resources)
