Social Science Data: General Repositories

This is the Social Science Data Services site which provides/pulls together guidance on finding statistics and data in the social sciences.

Dataverse

Dataverse is an open source web application to share, preserve, cite, explore, and analyze research data. It facilitates making data available to others, and allows you to replicate others' work more easily. Researchers, data authors, publishers, data distributors, and affiliated institutions all receive academic credit and web visibility.

Data purchased by the MIT Libraries is stored in the MIT Libraries Dataverse. To access all our data do the following (MIT only):

  • Click the login button and choose Massachusetts Institute of Technology as your institution
  • You will login using your MIT certificates or touchstone login.
  • You may need to click on the link for the MIT Libraries Dataverse again (but now you will be logged in).

Want to contribute your own data?

Researchers can get started here. See the user guide for more information.
