What is WorldCat?

MIT's WorldCat allows you to search library catalogs worldwide and the MIT Libraries catalog.

On the main page search results are ranked by relevancy. Within individual records, search results are displayed with MIT materials first (if any), followed by Borrow Direct and then those of other libraries.

Important note - this is NOT a complete catalog of MIT's holdings. For a more comprehensive search of items, including journals and databases, use Search Our Collections.

Get Items from Borrow Direct or Other Institutions

Use MIT's WorldCat interface to request items from Borrow Direct institutions or other institutions via ILLiad. Items are shipped directly to the MIT Libraries; once they arrive, you will receive an email notification.
