Roper Center for Public Opinion Research

The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research provides access to polls cover a range of social, business, and policy issues; include information from the U.S. and numerous foreign countries; and come from a wide variety of poling sources.

MIT's Roper membership provides the following resources:

  • Online access to summary-level data: access iPOLL, their question-level online database of survey results since 1935
  • Archived datasets: directly downloading of micro-level datasets from their catalog via RoperExpress.

To find out more information about the Roper center:


  • Users will need to register in order to download data from the Roper site.
  • Roper studies and databases may be used only by current MIT students, faculty, and staff.
