Digitizing Walkthrough: Equipment Operation Instructions

This guide gives users a detailed walkthrough on how to digitize records and cassettes with the provided digital audio workstations (Reaper and Logic Pro).

Turntable Operation Instructions

Be *careful and gentle* with all components of the turntable.


 

  1. Turn on the turntable, via the On-Off knob on the bottom-left corner. 

    1. Place the LP on the turntable. 

    2. Check that the speed on the player is correct, 33 for a standard LP. 

      1. This setting is also in the bottom-left corner.
         

  2. Carefully unlock the arm.

    1. Remove the clear needle cover at the end of the arm.

    2. Move the arm over the record.

 

  1. Press the Start/Stop button.

    1. Use the lever to lower the needle gently onto the record.

  1. When done recording, use the lever to gently pick up the arm.

    1. Then press Start/Stop to stop the record from spinning.


 

  1. Return the arm to the holder and lock it in place.

    1. Place the clear cover over the needle.

    2. Remove LP from the turntable.

    3. Turn the power off.

Cassette Player Operation Instructions

  1. Turn on the player. 

    1. Place the cassette inside, either deck A or B will work.

    2. To open a deck, press the Stop/Eject button.

    3. Close the deck.

  2. Press play on the player.

  3. After recording the desired audio, stop the cassette by pressing the Stop/Eject button.

  4. Open the deck by pressing the Stop/Eject button.

    1. Remove the cassette.
