LibGuides version 2: LibApps dashboard

New documentation available

Fall 2019: New MIT-specific LibGuides documentation is being developed:

SpringShare documentation for library staff: LibGuides

The guide you are currently on will be going away, so please email web-lib@mit.edu if there is something here you want included on the new documentation. Thank you!

Need an account?

Accounts are granted on the basis of need. An overview is required before an account is created even if the requestor has prior experience using LibGuides. The extent of the overview depends on the type of account that's requested and the amount and complexity of the content that the requestor needs to create or manage.

Training

Email web-lib@mit.edu to arrange for individual or group training or if you have any questions about using LibGuides at MIT.

Your profile

Important: Don't create or edit your profile box because HTML has to be added to obtain the look in the example below and you need a photo uploaded by Library Web Services before a profile box can be created. If you don't have a photo you can create a temporary profile box on a guide that can be used on multiple guides. Instructions can be found on the Guide Dashboard tab of this guide.

If your profile box title doesn't display properly on any of your guides, click the pencil icon in the box title and delete all of the text in the Box Name, in this example "subject guide." When the Box name is blank, click save. If you wanted to have a profile title that is different from the default title, you can put that text in the Box name instead of leaving it blank.

Profile on the guide page will reload with the correct title.
