Monograph Acquisitions: Which GOBI Account do I use to order my book?

Which Gobi Account do I use to order my book?

(Last Revised 2/8/12; CF)

Order book on your shelf-ready account if all of the following are true:

  • Item status in Gobi is In Stock, Low Stock, or Orders Accepted (recent imprints, i.e., current or prior year)
  • Item does not have an unusual binding or format
  • Item will be located in the STACKS, REF, Barker/Hayden Browsery, Dewey Impulse Borrowing or  HUM locations: DETEC, GRNVL, TRVL, or WSTM
  • Item is a monographic series and is cataloged/classified separately.
  • One or more funds are used for the item

Order book on 1010-11 (slip) account if one of the following is true:

  • If you are including any of the following notes on the order:
    • Item is an earlier/later edition of one you already own and you want it classed with same call number
    • Item is an intentional duplicate/additional copy (2nd or 3rd copy, etc.)
    • Item is a REPL
    • Item is part of a multi-volume set
    • Item is classed together or a serial
    • Item is “latest only kept” or “latest on reference”
      • Item has unusual binding or format
      • Item will not be located in one of locations mentioned in section above
      • If you think it might be an atlas

Order book on 1010-17 (rush) account if one of the following is true:

  • Patron request
  • Item is for reserves
  • Books ordered for the Archives (fund code begins V)

Order book on the shelf-ready account for the library where it will be shelved if:

  • Item is cataloged for another library instead of the library that is paying for it
  • Item meets all the criteria of ordering on shelf-ready (above)

Order all Ebooks, Rush or not, on the Ebook account:   1010-03
