Working papers are tools for the rapid dissemination of research results in the social sciences. Research results often first are published as working papers for informal feedback before later being published formally as journal articles.
Universities, research institutes, and other organizations publish hundreds of working paper series in economics, management, and other fields. Many working paper series are available in full text online, while some (particularly older papers) may be available only in print.
