Dr. Anthony Abraham Jack is Assistant Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Shutzer Assistant Professor at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. A first generation college student from Miami, he attended Amherst College as an undergraduate and earned a Ph.D. in sociology from Harvard University. He has published widely, in both academic journals and daily newspapers. His first book, The Privileged Poor: How Elite Colleges Are Failing Disadvantaged Students, has received widespread acclaim. In its review of Jack's book, The Washington Post notes that it "brings home the pain and reality of on-campus poverty and puts the blame squarely on elite institutions."
