CC.115: Writing About Big Questions: Defending Poetry: Background Information

Class research guide for CC.115

Literary Online Reference Material

The following links will take you to excellent sources of background information on both your poets and some of the references in their work. Some tips:

  1. Start with the first 2 sources I've listed, Gale Literature Resource Center and LION. It is likely that they will contain more detailed information than what you will find in the other sources.
  2. Start with a search that combines the author's name with the work. Use the word "and" to separate the author's name from the work, and put the title of the work in quotation marks if it's more than one word.
