MIT Industrial Liaison Program (ILP)

ILP members may borrow materials from the MIT Libraries through the ILP Interlibrary Loan service.

Staff of ILP member companies can

  • search the MIT Libraries' online catalog, Barton
  • request materials online


  • Materials will be delivered to the ILP company site via FedEx. 
  • Loan delivery is free.
  • Items can be borrowed for up to 28 days.

Article copies:
ILP members are eligible for a 10% discount on PDF delivery of journal articles or conference papers from the MIT Libraries collections.

Reciprocal faculty borrowing program

The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) is a cooperative library organization which includes the MIT Libraries and more than 160 other research libraries.

OCLC has a program which provides faculty members on-site access and borrowing privileges at member libraries.

To take advantage of this OCLC program as a visitor to the MIT Libraries:

  • Please contact Document Services in advance to enroll for library privileges.
  • Document Services is open by appointment only, between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
