The Awakening: An Afrofuturism Inspired Multimedia Art Show, will be held Monday, Nov. 5th, 2018 from 6-8pm in the SPXCE Intercultural Center (W31-110). Participants may view, share, and interact with artistic pieces inspired by themes discussed in the book Dawn by Octavia Butler, as well as themes associated with Octavia Butler’s body of work as a whole and how those themes resonate today. Call for Art

Submit your 2D and 3D art, costume art, performance art, music, and multimedia, and more by Oct. 22, 2018. We’re looking for work inspired by themes such as transhumanism and human evolution, gender construction, Afrofuturism, multi-ethnic and multi-species futures, LGBT identities, nuclear warfare, and colonization.
