Library Staff Association - MIT Libraries: Language list

The Library Staff Association (LSA) at MIT comprises all the staff of the MIT Libraries

Language List

If you are on the MIT Libraries staff and have found this page, perhaps you would be interested in taking up the reins and running the Language List. All it needs is a new sign up sheet and loving care. Email staffwebupdates-lib at mit.edu to get permissions.

Otherwise this is the List's brief eulogy.

The Library Staff Association hosted and maintained this list of staff members with non-English language skills. The project started as a typed list distributed to staff and enjoyed several online incarnations. The goals were to have, at hand, a resource list for library staff (especially cataloguers) and to give people the opportunity to volunteer their skills and to get together to talk. The burgeoning of resources for translation has lessened the need for such a list.

At this writing, the names and languages spoken are of people who are still at the Libraries.

Best wishes. Jim Eggleston.
