About Cookiefest

Event Description:

Cookiefest is an annual celebration held in mid-December for and by Library Staff to celebrate and trade tasty treats.

It is similar to a cookie swap, but no baking is required to attend (though highly encouraged)!

Event details:
  • The event date is usually announced in early November with a call for bakers/volunteers at the end of November or early December.
  • It is usually held in the Bush room (10-105), but has also been held in the Pappalardo room (4-349).
  • Bakers may chose any cookie or cookie-adjacent recipe to make. Suggested amount for bakers is about 2 dozen. In addition to many types of cookies, we've seen all kinds of bars, tray bake treats, and even homemade marshmallows.
  • Platters and food labels with the baker's name, treat name, and any relevant allergen information that has been shared are provided, but participants may also bring their own.
  • Event is open to all library staff including temporary, term, and student employees. This event is not open to MIT Press, other DLCs, or friends/family.

Get Involved:

Please reach out to Lara Day if you'd like to be involved in planning, setup, etc!
