NE36 Conference Rooms: Multi-Purpose Room - Orbitee

Information about the MIT Libraries' conference rooms in building NE36.

Room AV Info - Orbitee

This room features a monitor and in-room computer plus a wall-plate for HDMI access.  It has no accommodations for a camera as this room is not intended to host meetings.

  • 80" Monitor
  • Wall  accessible HDMI cable with adapter ring
  • Ceiling speakers
  • Extron wall-mounted control panel
  • Computer with wireless mouse and keyboard

Technical Assistance

For technical assistance or to report a problem with any of the NE36 conference rooms, please submit a request to MIT Libraries Help Center and be sure to include the keywords “Libraries – NE36 AV” along with the room you have an issue with.

Using the Equipment in Orbitee

  • Turn on the monitor - Press the On button on the Extron panel to the left of the monitorextron panel in small rooms
    • Wait for the monitor to power on (5-10 sec.)
  • Use the In-Room PC with the wireless keyboard and mouse
                         OR
  • Attach the HDMI cable below the monitor to your laptop
    • Press the HDMI button to have your laptop display on the screen
  • Tap the Volume Up/Down buttons on the Extron panel to adjust the output volume
    • You may need to tap this button repeatedly, press and hold doesn't work as well.

When you are through using the room:

  • Press the PC button on the Extron panel to return to the default setting
  • Press the Off button to power off the monitor

Video Conferencing in Orbitee

This room is not intended to support video conferencing.  There are no cameras or conference phones in this space.

Please return the room to it's default configuration after your meeting.  Wipe down any whiteboards, replace the tables and chairs and return the AV system to the PC setting and power it off.
