Images for the Web: Guidelines for MIT Libraries: Home

Intro

Images are great for making web pages, research guides, and blog stories more interesting and usable, but it's not always easy to find the right images. And how do you know that you're allowed to use an image on the web?

This guide will walk you through the steps of how to find, cite, and embed images on the web.

  1. Identify images for reuse or make a fair use case
  2. Find images
  3. Cite images
  4. Embed images

Want to test your knowledge about which photos are ok to use on the web? Take the fair use quiz!
