What is Pressreader?

 

  • Read 7000+ full-color, full page newspapers and magazines from 82 countries in 39 languages 
  • Search and translate content, as well as download issues for offline reading 
  • Only the most current 60-90 days of back issues are available on Pressreader.

Get started with Pressreader

 

  1. On campus, go directly to pressreader.com

  2. Off campus, go to: https://libguides.mit.edu/pressreader

  3. The green teacup in the upper left of the screen means you are successfully connected to Pressreader

  4. Create a personal account to use the app, set up alerts, or enjoy automatic delivery of publications

Using the app

  1. Download the Pressreader app on your mobile device

  2. While within MIT IP range, launch app and login with your personal account information

  3. The green teacup icon indicates successful connection to Pressreader

  4. Once authenticated, your MIT subscription will work for 7 days off campus.  To re-authenticate, activate the app from within the MIT IP range.

Downloading/autodelivery

Publications may be downloaded manually for offline reading, or you can set up autodelivery for up to 5 publications.

  1. In the Pressreader app, tap the cover of a magazine or newspaper
  2. This will take you to the order screen where you can download the issue by clicking the arrow next to the green Open button
  3. Swipe the toggle shown below (above the green Open button) to turn on autodelivery.
