Normally, appointments to positions in the MIT Libraries are made for no specified term. (Temporary appointments are made to those positions which are temporary in nature or those with known specific terms, such as grant funded positions.) Appointments may be terminated for cause, including misconduct or unsatisfactory performance, or may be terminated for lack of work or funds or other operational reasons with appropriate notice.
