GIS Assistance

The GIS laboratory, housed on the 3rd floor of Rotch Library (7-238), is available for use during Rotch's operating hours.

Summer GIS Lab Assistance:

May 20th - May 31st: by appointment

June 3rd - August 30th: Monday-Friday: 2-3pm 

There will be no GIS help on May 27th and July 4th due to holidays.

If you cannot make these times, feel free to email your question to us or contact us to set up an appointment at another time. Our email address is gishelp@mit.edu.

 

 

News

We added new tutorials on finding business data, geocoding addresses, and adding xy coordinates as points. Check them out here.

Landscan Data Learn more about population distribution around the world using LandScan 2011. You must be on the MIT Network to access the web application. This data will soon be available in MIT's Geodata Repository.

Wind and Solar Data for Massachusetts and Florida: Data on wind speed and solar irradiation are available for Massachusetts and Florida on DVD in the GIS lab.
