Administrative Services supports the MIT Libraries' mission and goals in the areas of Budget & Financial, Facilities & Operations, Personnel and Staff Services.

About Marketing and Communications

Marketing and Communications increases the visibility of the MIT Libraries and advances its mission by:

  • Providing direction, coordination, and support for external communications, advertising, and promotion across the organization
  • Ensure cohesive branding, style, and voice across all content and communications
  • Telling stories of the Libraries’ impact on teaching, learning, research, the MIT community, and more
  • Keeping the MIT community and others informed of library services, collections, activities, events, and research
  • Managing the Libraries’ presence and messaging across print and digital channels, including social media
  • Leading the ad hoc marketing team, a cross-departmental group focused on informing marketing strategy and ways to promote the Libraries’ resources, services, and programs
  • Handling media requests and public relations in coordination with the MIT News Office
  • Composing and editing text for:
  • MIT Libraries news site
  • Bibliotech, a semi-annual newsletter for the MIT community, alumni, and friends
  • MIT Around Campus news 
  • Development communications
  • Press releases
  • Various Institute publications
